Measuring a sectional couch is not difficult. To do this, simply follow the steps below.

Gather the Necessary Tools

You don't need the help of a professional to measure your sectional couch. You just need to gather the necessary equipment for the task. In fact, all you need is a tape measure. You can buy one if you don't have it. It is available in all markets. You can also ask for help from another person to assist you in measuring your sectional couch.

Measuring a U-Shaped sectional couch

If your sectional couch is U-shaped, you need to take 3 measurements. You should measure the distance between points A to determine the size of your first cover, then measure the distance between points B to determine the size of your second cover. Finally, measure the distance between points C for your third cover. Use your tape measure for this.

If one of the sections of the U-shaped sectional couch is a chaise longue, you should measure it like a standard armrest. Therefore, the cover will have no problem fitting the sofa.

Measuring an L-Shaped sectional couch

If your sectional couch has an L shape, measure the distance between points A to determine the size of your first cover, then measure the distance between points B to determine the size of your second cover. In this case, you will not have any problems with cover installation.

In all cases, it is recommended to firmly attach the tape measure to the fabric of the sofa along its entire length to obtain accurate measurements.

Choosing the Cover Based on sectional couch Measurements

After measuring the dimensions of your sectional couch, you can proceed to select the suitable cover. Follow the guide below.

Indeed, you should choose a single-seat cover if the length between the ends of the sofa is 90 to 140cm / 35 - 55". If the distance between the points of the sofa is 140 to 185cm / 57-72", you should opt for a 2-seat cover.

On the other hand, a 3-seat cover is more suitable for a sofa length between 185 and 230cm / 75 - 95". For a distance between points of 230 and 300cm / 92 - 118", it is preferable to choose a 4-seat cover.

How to Install a sectional couch Cover?

Once you have measured your sectional couch and received your cover, all that's left is to install your sofa cover. Follow the steps below to do this.

First, lay the cover over the sectional couch. You can ask for help from another person. When laying the cover, make sure the label is at the back of the sofa. Perform this operation on one and then the other part of the sectional couch.

Afterward, you need to cover the sofa with the cover. Stretch the cover over all 4 corners of the sofa. Cover it from front to back while pulling the sides of the sofa tightly. After completing one section, repeat with the other.

To achieve a perfect result, you should then adjust the cover on the sofa. In this case, take a wooden spoon and tuck the excess fabric of the cover into the corners of the sofa. Also, make sure to tuck the remaining fabric between the backrests and the seats or between the armrests and the seats. Ensure that there is no excess fabric sticking out.

Finally, you need to attach the support tubes. Insert the foam pieces into the sofa's crevices. This will give you a good visual result. You will also gain in comfort.

At the end, you should tie the cords under the sofa. For this last step, you can flip the sofa to reach the bottom. Then tie the knots or strings from various ends. This helps ensure that the cover will not slip or come loose over time.

However, if your sofa has compartments or drawers, you will no longer have access to them after attaching the cords. In this case, if you want to keep access to the drawers, it is advisable not to attach the cords under the sofa.
